Car Insurance Nissan (Car Insurance). "Toyota RAV4 2.0 D-4D XTR 5-Dr"?"Toyota RAV4 2.0 D-4D XTR 5-Dr"? Any one owns this car? any advise about reliability etc.? what about service & MOT prices? I am looking to buy a used one: 2005 (DEC) for £10,500 please help. many thanks in advance. I don't know what the currency you posted is, but I own a 2005 RAV4 4x4 of my own. So as for reliability, I just replaced my water pump at 73,000 miles. But after 6 years of driving that so far is the only thing I've had to replace. Of course being an all time 4 wheeled drive it's hard on tires so replacing those goes without saying, but don't buy really cheap tires for it, they won't last. I do my own service on it as mechanics charge $60/hr, and it's not really that hard to do maintenance of oil changes, and other fluids on your own car. Hi i was advised the 2 litre engines do blow head gaskets. hi. I've owned a 2.0 d4d 2003 for 4 yrs now and all I can say is you'd be a fool not to buy one, they are absolutely bulletproof. I tow a caravan with mine and have not had any problems at all. they DO NOT blow head gaskets either, that's complete toilet. what a brilliant car and that's why the reviews are so good. Nissan . How to Troubleshoot the Steering System in a Mitsubishi EclipseMitsubishi introduced the Eclipse to North American markets in 1989. The four-seat sports coupe has undergone four generations and is now offered in standard, GS and GT models. Keep repair costs down by troubleshooting your steering system. The basics for all model years are relatively easy to follow. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Step by Step : 1 Follow Mitsubishi's service and inspection schedule. Check the ball joints, steering linkage seals and drive belts every 30,000 miles. Use the opportunity to check the linkage and power steering lines and make sure the connections are lubricated. Replace fluid every 30,000 miles. Current models use Mitsubishi power steering fluid but earlier generations used Dexron II automatic transmission fluid. 2 Track down steering drift or pulling in one direction by making sure the linkage isn't too loose or too tight. The problem could also be wheel alignment. Brake drag, uneven tire pressure or wear can also cause the care to pull. Weak springs or worn bearings can cause drift. 3 Inspect the tire pressure and wheel alignment for steering difficulties. You should also make sure that the steering box is adjusted properly and the linkage isn't loose. You should also check the gear and pump for hard steering; the linkage for loose steering. 4 Check the power steering fluid and drive belt to correct noises. Follow up with the pump mount, gear and linkage. Your Eclipse may also be experiencing worn suspension parts or interference with the steering column or tires. 5 Look for the sources of wheel shimmy and vibration in the tire pressure, balance and wear. Other causes could be loose steering linkage, brake damage or worn suspension components. Check the wheels for damage as well.
Nissan . How to Troubleshoot the Steering System in a Hyundai Santa FeHyundai introduced the Sante Fe in 2001 to serve as a compact crossover SUV based on its Sonata platform. The model became Hyundai's best seller, partially because of its reliability. Keep the steering system reliable by following a few basic troubleshooting pointers. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need PSF 3 power steering fluid Step by Step : 1 Make wheel and tire condition the number one priority on your list. Balance and rotate the tires regularly, keep the tire pressure even and your tires in top shape. If you do experience vibration or steering pulls check the tire condition first and then make sure the wheels are properly aligned. 2 Keep the power steering fluid clean and in good condition. Use PSF 3 power steering fluid and make sure there is no air in the system. After you check your tires, you should check the fluid levels, look for leaks and test the power steering belt should you encounter problems. 3 Inspect the linkage if your tires and fluid are in good condition. You should make sure the components are properly lubricated and show no signs of excessive wear. To make the most through inspection, follow the linkage system from steering column to tie rods while someone else turns the steering wheel. Inspect the linkage with the front end up and again with the front end down. 4 Move to the power steering gear and steering box if you haven't resolved the problem. Check the fluid pressure and the play in the rack mounts. You may need to replace one or both. 5 Finish your inspection by checking peripheral components. The brakes may need repair, the springs and shocks may be worn or you may need to adjust wheel bearings and ball joints. *The car won't start on rainy days. Check inside the distributor cap for dampness (see "Servicing Your Distributor" in Chapter 12). If you find moisture, get some mechanic's solvent from your friendly service station — they use it to clean car parts — or buy an aerosol can of it at an auto supply store. To evaporate any dampness inside the distributor cap, turn the cap upside down and pour or spray some solvent into it. Swish it around and pour it out. Then dry the cap as best you can with a clean, lint-free rag and replace the cap. .Chapter 21: What to Do If Your Car Drops Dead or Won't Start A /j 2 Use only clean solvent; even a tiny speck of dirt can foul the points. Gasoline won't do because a spark can ignite gasoline fumes and cause an explosion or a fire. *" The car won't start on cold mornings. For vehicles with carburetors, check the choke. Is it closed? Does it open? See Chapter 13 for details. If you have fuel injection, you'll need to have a professional diagnose the cold-start problems. 963

Nissan Murano. * check the octane rating of the fuel you're using. The owner's manual can tell you whether your vehicle needs regular unleaded or premium gasoline. Check the cooling system (see Chapter 14). Do a compression check on the engine cylinders (see the section "Checking the Compression in Your Cylinders" in Chapter 13). Jumping, a start If your battery has died, you may be able to use jumper cables to jump a start from some Good Samaritan's car — with one important exception. If either vehicle has an electronic ignition system, the use of jumper cables may damage it. If your vehicle is one that may be damaged in this way, you may find a warning to that effect in the owner's manual or on a decal under the hood. Even if you don't find a warning, it pays to be sure, so call the service department at your dealership and ask about your vehicle's make, model, and year. If you can safely use jumper cables on your vehicle, make sure that the battery on the Good Samaritan's vehicle has at least as much voltage as your own. It doesn't matter whether your car has negative ground and the GS's car has positive ground, or your car has an alternator and the GS's car has a generator, as long as you hook up the cables properly (and the proper way is the same in every case).
